Durante a Expocande 2025, que ocorreu em Candelária – RS, de 30 de abril a 4 de maio, contou com uma mostra de Paleontologia e Arqueologia, destacando um pouco da história local e algumas descobertas sobre o tema.
A mostra contou com esqueletos, réplicas de dinossauros e alguns fósseis de animais que viveram na região a milhares de anos atrás.
Este material em exposição faz parte do acervo do museu da cidade.
A região de Candelária também é conhecida pelo importante acervo do Museu Municipal Aristides Carlos Rodrigues que lá está situado, contendo um amplo conteúdo sobre paleontologia.
Através deste acervo, é possível conhecer um pouco melhor sobre a história local, a biodiversidade que já esteve presente, e como era um pouco do ambiente pré-histórico que a região já teve.
